About The Drawing Office
· The Drawing Office is built on 40 years industry experience and education.
· The knowledge base includes practical hands on engineering & building experience.
· We produce full drawing packages that equip the project tradespeople with the information needed to get the job done thereby making work streamlined, accurate and efficient to save you money.
· Using depictive presentations early in the process assures you get what you expect. We ascertain and then deliver.
· Additionally we can guide you through the processes and take care of the regulatory obligations if you wish. We can act as your agent in dealing with the Building Control Authority on issues such as Consent Applications, Code of Compliance, Resource Consents, etc.
· Our primary software is Autodesk's Revit which is highly regarded in the industry. This product has capacity to integrate information from various contributors which means nothing needs to be double handled. This saves time and money while eliminating mistakes/contradictions that generally occur when making changes/edits given the volume of interrelated information. It can calculate, render, model, produce construction drawings and realistic walk through video forms. The latter allows the client to experience the concept prior to setting things in stone; once again saving money and overruns by identifying desired changes to the build before it happens.
· The Design Association of NZ supports the professional development of designers and has done so since 1946 originally as the NZ Institute of Draughtsmen. As a member we maintain technical and design related education and training. We have access to other members which extends the knowledge base for those occasions where additional specialised support may be required.
· Building Biology & Ecology is the study of the effect of the built environment on the health of people and the environment. The Institute aims to make people aware of the health and environmental hazards of modern buildings and construction, and show them how to create healthier and more sustainable places to live and work in. It was established in Germany in the 1970s and The New Zealand Institute (an Affiliate) has been active in education and research in the country since 1990.
· The LBP scheme was launched in November 2007 following an amendment to the Building Act 2004. Its purpose is to encourage competent building practitioners to build homes right the first time. The purposes of licensing for building practitioners is to assess and record building practitioners as having certain skills and knowledge relevant to building work and assure they can carry out or supervise restricted building work. The scheme also gives consumers the necessary information to make informed decisions about the competence of building practitioners. https://www.lbp.govt.nz/about-us/about-the-lbp-scheme/overview
